Fishing Knots
A knot is a knot, and if that is correct then why do we need so many ones for fishing. In my youth when all I had was a bent pin and a piece of cotton, I just tied it on with a couple of overhand knots, and it was not until I started to use eyed hooks and monofilament line that I became aware that my old knot just would not do, and this was mainly down to the slippery nature of mono. I have looked at many books and seen dozens of knots but I now confine myself to just a few.
The latest one used to tie on eyed hooks is the no-knot
